Introduction

Nokia Photos :-

Introducing Nokia Photos, one of the integral cogs within the Nokia Ovi Suite machine.

Nokia Photos, as one might surmise, is a photo organizing application that provides you

with a seamless integration between the PC, Nokia handset and Ovi services on the

Internet. In essence, Nokia Photos is a great tool which helps to organize those

precious and happy moments with ease.

Other then organising photos, Nokia Photos also provide users with the ability to

organize SMS, MMS and even videos from the phone. Few companies have provided such a

level of integration between the computer, phone and the Internet. Fret not if you’re a

Mac user. Nokia is also working on Ovi suite for the Mac OSx. Mac users would have to

wait a little longer to enjoy the services which Ovi has to offer, but as they say, it’s

better late than never.

Nokia Ovi Suite :-

Designed from a clean slate, Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 offers a new, more user-friendly

approach to Nokia PC software. The application is refreshingly limited, slim, and fast.

The completely new user interface gives you easy access to your important files and

information as all the functionalities are available within one window.

Picasa :-

Google’s free photo editing and management program, Picasa 3, is an upgraded version of

the Picasa program that Google has offered in the past. Picasa 3 is easier to use than

the previous version, and has tons of new and upgraded features that will allow you to

have a much more exciting editing and sharing experience. Features of the new version

include user-friendly editing tools, a Sync function that allows you to upload and share

photos easier and more quickly, screen capture, airbrushing, captioning and many more

tools

Synchronizing

Nokia Photos :-

Being a rather smart software, Nokia Photos will automatically detect the handset which

is connected to the PC (you can choose from a wide range of connectivity options). You

can then select the items you want to synchronize with Nokia Photos (SMS, MMS, Photos

and Videos) which will all be stored into your PC into folders organized by months.

Sometimes you may wish to copy some images from your computer over to your handset,

perhaps to show your friends the nice images you took during your last trip. In Nokia

Photos select the files stored on the PC and drag them over into phone (in this example,

the 5800 XpressMusic) displayed in the menu on the left and the selected images will be

copied over to the phone.

Nokia Ovi Suite :-

As of now it works similar to Nokia Photos except No support for MMS.

Picasa :-

Once Picasa is installed, it will arrange the photos in an organized manner as per

user's requirement for supported files.

Organizing your photos

Nokia Photos :-

Organizing photos can be quite a tedious process and at times frustrating if there are

no suitable tools to help you out with. Nokia Photos helps to ease that pain by

providing a few nifty tricks for organising photos.

1) Tags

There are 2 tags available to organize your photos. Firstly, there is the content tag

which lets you describe the photo, similar to how tags are utilized on blogs. Secondly,

location tags which let you organize according to where the photo was taken. Tags are

useful as it makes locating photos a lot easier, so if I have 100 photos which I took

over the months or during the All-American Reject concert here in Singapore, I can

easily filter it out from the entire photo library by selecting the appropriate tag.

2) Map

If your handset has an integrated GPS chipset, imagine what you can do with the geo-

tagging feature. For one, images that have been geo-tagged will be sorted and show up on

the exact location at which it was taken. Alternatively, you can locate the position and

drag images into the map location, this lets you browse the images based on location in

the map.

3) Timeline

Now timeline is somewhat an interesting aspect to organize your photos. As the name

implies, photos or videos are shown in a sequence based on time and date the image was

taken. This function is great as it enables you to trace back the series of events that

transpired, just be looking at the photos or videos taken during that timeframe. Think

of it as a little story of your day to day muses and happenings. And this is not limited

to photos and videos only. Remember how Nokia Photos also synchronizes your text

messages? That’s right, you’ll also see your text messages over that specific timeline

laid out for you to review.

Storing your photos on Ovi share

What better way to save your memories than to put your files on the Ovi servers? As

mentioned, Nokia has covered all grounds when it comes to service integration, and this

is apparent with Ovi Share’s unlimited capacity for your images. All you have to do is

set up an Ovi account, fire up the upload function in Nokia Photos (located at the lower

right section), configure Nokia Photo to login to your Ovi account and you’re ready to

upload your images to Ovi Share.

After selecting the images you what to upload, select the upload function. An upload

dialogue will be presented. Several options are available, from this dialogue you can

choose to give a title to this set, add comments and put an option to include tags for

the images.

After the photos have been uploaded, the photos can be accessed via the Ovi website. You

can choose to share the photos with friends, add tags and even put them up on social
networks like Digg and Technorati.

Picasa

For organizing photos, Picasa has file importing and tracking features, as well as tags,

facial recognition, and collections for further sorting. It also offers several basic

photo editing functions, including color enhancement, red eye reduction and cropping.

Other features include slide shows, printing and image timelines. Images can also be

prepared for external use, such as for e-mailing or printing, by reducing file size and

setting up page layouts. There is also integration with online photo printing services.

[Geotagging]

Since June 2007 Picasa can write geographic coordinates to Exif metadata, thus

geotagging an image. Google Earth must also be installed to do this.

Since version 3.5 of Picasa, Google Earth is not needed. Geotagging may be done directly

inside Picasa, using a more practical Google Maps component, which enables this

functionality in the Mac OS X version.

Nokia Ovi Suite :-

Unfortunately Nokia Ovi Suite has not got any option to tag photos.

Files Supported.

Nokia Photos

Collecting multimedia messages (MMS = Multimedia Messaging System) with Nokia Lifeblog

is automatic; whenever you receive or send a multimedia message, it is stored on the

Timeline view where you can view it and copy it to your PC.

Photos stores and shows all the components of your multimedia message. MMS messages can

include the following elements:

JPG, PNG, WBMP, GIF89a, GIF87 and BMP images

3GP video clips (.3GP) and MPEG4 video clips (.MP4)

Journey of Thousand miles begins with a single step.

Yes. Even an individual like you and me can make a difference. Are you willing to donate Rs 20/- per day for a year, roughly Rs 6000/- a year. (approx 130 US Dollars per year) ??

As an individual we expect more from our parents/government/company etc.? But have we ever think of kids who don't even have a secure family to survive. Yes, In India, we have lot of kids who are disabled, orphaned, sick etc. Even affected by HIV. Can you make any difference to these kids? You may be thinking that people like us cannot donate, it has to be given by big shots/heroes, industrialists etc., No even your daily 20/- rs per day will make a lot of difference.

Its not compelling thing from me. Its all up to you. IF YOU THINK YOU CAN, YOU CAN make a lot of difference in this world so that you can make a child smile :) Money always will not buy all things all time.

There are too many children in India who are in pathetic condition. Your contribution to them, will make a child smile. Helping to Children is helping to God.

Australia arrives India to defend its World No # 1.

After their successful ODI tours from England(6-1), Australia marched as victorious team in South Africa to retain their mini-world Cup. (First cricket team to regain its mini world cup). They arrived to India to regain its top spot in arena of World Cricket in ODI. Australia arrived India with Australia 'A' side :( Yeah Australia came to India Sans Micheal Clark, Sans Ferugson, Sans Nathan Bracken, Sans Brad Haddins .... Facing lion on its den. Its more tougher than facing lion on its den to beat India in India with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan and Co., Australia managed to win the first ODI, but then lost next two matches. Its 1-2 down for Aussies. When the tour is on its way, Australia met more casualities on their injury list. Brett Lee, James Hopes, Henriques and co. Still they manage to win their next two matches to lead the series 3-2. In their 6th match, they dominated record holders of Indian top order cricketers to the dressing room where the match was over in first 40 minutes :( Thanks to some poor fielding and dropped catches of Australia, India managed to score 170. Then its more formality for Aussies to finish the match with almost 8 overs to be bowled. They won the series 4-2 (7 matches).

Can you imagine Australia which has got few players who have already visited India and played International cricket against Mighty men in blue. Ricky Ponting, Mike Hussey and Shane Watson being the few players who have played in India (International). But because of T20 matches, Australian A players like Bollinger, White, Hauritz and co who played in recent T20 championship earlier to this tournament make the way for them to get practised and habituated to Indian conditions.

So many records for Sachin Tendulkar, Top individual perfomance from men in blue. But in Hydrabad, Opertaion success but patient died :(

Inexperienced, Depleted Aussies won the Mighty (well resourced) Men in blue. Yet this Australian team has a lot to prove the world, by filling the shoes of Hayden, Langer, Martin(Damien), Symmonds, Gilly, Shane Warne & Glenn McGrath.

Can they make this Australian Aura back ? Lets wait and see :D

This Australian cricketers are not less than Phoenix bird. Raised from the Ashes.

Senthil Somasundaram: Badshahs of Cricket - Oz

Senthil Somasundaram: Badshahs of Cricket - Oz

Badshahs of Cricket - Oz

Football - Brazil
Tennis - Federer
Tour de France - Lance Armstrong
Swimming - Michael phelps
Formula1 - Schumi

Cricket - None other than Aussies ....

Imagine how a team can dominate the cricketing world

Champions of World Cups 1999, 2003, 2007 (Unbeaten on 2003 & 2007)
Champions of Mini world Cups 2006 & 2009 (Unbeaten on 2009)

First ever team to won a World cup thrice, in succession that too....

First ever team to retain Mini world cup....

So many other things... Yeah all teams have ups and downs in sports even Aussies too, retirement of Legends like Shane Warne, Glenn Mcrath, Damien Martin, Mathew Hayden, Justin Langer, Adam Gilchirst & so many big names to follow....

They have lost the aura of their dominance in world cricket... After losing the Ashes to their arch rival, they bounced back well to win the series against England 6-1(yeah its not tennis set card), they landed South Africa for Mini World cup. Like other teams, they also had injury concerns before the tournament starts, but Oh boy @ the end of the tournament they are clearly CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS, undisputed leader in this format once again. Sans Nathan Bracken, Sans Michael Clark, Sans Brad Haddin, they were mediocre team like any XI in the tournament... They struggled against weakest W.Indies team which didnt have any reputed players, then nature had its final saying against the match against India(they were comfartably placed 234/4 around 44 overs), but points were shared, then they have to win their final league match against Pakistan in the last ball of the match.( Controveries are revolving around this match).... Then they had whacked their arch rivals in Semi-final with hands down ... Qualified for finals against their tasmanian rivals Black Caps...

Hmm again big final guess what, its Australia who won the tournament for the succession and unofficially they are the number one team on the earth.

Collective effort from the team, leading from the front Ricky Ponting, Shane watson's back to back 100s in Semi-final and Final, some handy innings from Hussey, Hopes, Paine, Johnson with the bat, Siddle, Lee, Johnson, Hauritz from the ball.... Spectacular catches, Stunning runouts, brilliant Power plays handling... Contribution from the entire team, collective effort with synergy clearly differentiates the teams of this ICC Champions, which is termed as Mini World cup, top 8 teams battle for the tournament.

Clearly the Aussies are Badshahs/Maharajas/Sultans of Cricket.... whatever As far as Australia carries this form no threat for 50 overs format ODI and Test Cricket. Real treat to watch when they are on song. Oh Boys, they are not the same of Invincibles of Bradman/Steve Waugh's aura but this team emerging players are yet to prove a lot to this world. Let other teams give comfortable challenge to this team....

Go Aussies Go... Cricker lovers wanna more from you guys :)

My Love with Nokia

My love with Nokia began exactly on February 14th, 2006 @ City Centre Vashi, New Mumbai. Yeah you got it right, along with my friend Hari, i went to Vashi's City Centre to get my all New Nokia 1108 (Moonlight) handset at a lovely evening in New Mumbai. I have seen people using Nokia phones. I am eagerly waiting for my turn to hold this phone. (Yeah @ that time i don't know much about Mobile phones), before coming to Mumbai i was not aware of CDMA, GSM phones. So i took my first lovable handset on a Valentine so that my love with Nokia will be remembered for ever. Those days we do had a option to choose handset but not as that of today's. As all my memorable events will start with my Mom, i do called my Mom first on my mobile. Those days in NOkia 1108 we dont have much options to have too many ringtones on this phone. So we have to content with very few ringtones on Nokia 1108. I was holding this lovely phone till my got my Nokia N 73, which is still one of the awesome handset by Nokia :) .... Life has turned a lot then....Still i am seeing people using Nokia 1108. Though the production of this handset was stopped long back, My love for this handset never ends....

Future of Tamil Cinema

Hi,

I want to share some ideas here related to tamil cinema. There is no second thought about the mass icon talents likes of Kamalhassan's, Mani Ratnam's and ARRehman's etc in Tamil cinema industry. Yes really we are threating the world cinema with our talents. But far do we accept that we also lags new scripts, new ideas, new stories etc. I am very amazed to see Tamil cinema is lacking new concepts of movies. Not only movies, but also actresses, songs, stories. We can see Mass heroes are doing movies which were already released in Malayalam, Telugu etc. Musicians copying the songs not only from Indian languages but also from world languages. Directors easily taking away the cherry from the cake by stealing (?) stories from epic. List wont stop here. Now its becoming a buzzy trend making old movies again. Remixes of songs, movies. SO where is Tamil Cinema heading to ????

Hi,

It was long back i posted my last blog. Hereafter i planned to do blogging regularly even for small things which i want to blog. So from now on i decided to post good things which i receive as a forwarded mails from my friends and which i really like to post them on blogs.

A true Love story

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb.

He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him.

I saw him looking at his watch, and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I inquired as to her health; he told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said, 'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is'.

I had to hold back tears as he left; I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life'.

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there is one that comes along that has an important message.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

I hope you share this with someone you care about. I just did.

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm,

But how to dance in the rain.'

Updating contacts online

Hi,

I am using Nokia N 81 - 8GB handset. I fond of reading blogs about Mobile Phones. As i am using Nokia handset, I am using the PC suite issued along with the handset. Now i am having an eye on Nokia's OVI launch. I have a fair idea about Twangos/Flickrs, where i can upload my images and also i can blog my entries too. I am from APAC region, where not all the users will have a PC to use the PC suites given along with the handset. People mostly use this type of softwares to make use of synchronising the contacts, calender entries etc. In case of Nokia, its very fair to have websites like Twango, OVI etc. Why not OVI.com website, can upload/download my contact details too in a secured way, so that whenever i want to upload/download i can use this. Lifeblog is also a good idea. But for most of the people who donot PCs on their home and they have to really rely on netcafes/browsing centres to access website, all this Twangos/Flickrs will not be easy to update now and then. So why not Nokia should come up with some features on their handsets, where an enduser can access that application in which he/she can access update his/her contact details to Nokia. Say for eg, Reliance ( CDMA ) have one application called R-World ( The phone should support this application, not all reliance phones are R-world enabled ), in which customer can update their Phone book entries whenever they want to upload and then they can download it later. This is very useful for the customers who wants to migrate from Black n white handset to the latest colour/new features handset available in the market. So even Nokia can come up with some of these types of application, in which customer can upload their phone book entries to the server and whenever they want to download their phone book entries, they can download it. I had an option to view some of the existing software/online sites which are available in the market. One such is Zybhttps://zyb.com/In above site, they are updating the Contact lists of the users online. So i felt that Nokia can combine these options :1) Providing an application from basic handsets like 1100/1108 to N/E - Series handsets in which they can have an access to Server by uploading their contact details2) Website like OVI.com can have these entries back-ed up along with the username and password, whenever if a customer wants to upload or download their Phone entries they can use it.Why companies like Nokia wants to restrict themselves synchronising only the Photos alone and why not the Contacts which is very essentail element, every end-user will have to backup.Nokia can implement this applications and also provide some easy way to access OVI.com where an enduser can also update the phone book entries too......... which really a good one for every one. The Securtiy may be an issue while updating the phone book entries where important contact details may be hacked while making reality of above said idea but Nokia can comeup with some data securtiy also.I wont feel this as an absurd idea. But opinion differs. Post your opinions too.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT A ( CHILDISH PLAY) MICKEY MOUSE AFFAIR !!!

Customer satisfaction is a key to all companies. I had an oppurtunity to came across a mail forwarded by one of my friend.

Here its for you.....

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT A MICKEY MOUSE AFFAIR

Not too long ago, a guest checking out of our Polynesian Village resort at Walt Disney World was asked how she enjoyed her visit. She told the front-desk clerk she had a wonderful vacation, but was heartbroken about loosing several rolls of Kodak color film she had not yet developed. She was particularly upset over the loss of the pictures she had shot at our Polynesian Luau, as this was a memory she especially treasured.
Now, please understand that we have no written service standards covering lost luau snapshots. Fortunately, the hostess at the front desk understood Disney’s philosophy of caring for our guests. She asked the woman to leave her a couple of rolls of fresh film, promising she would take care of the rest.
Two weeks later, this guest received a package at her home. In it were photos of the entire cast of our luau show, personally autographed by each performer. There were also photos of the parade and fireworks in the theme park, taken by the front-desk hostess on her own time, after work. I happen to know this story because this guest wrote us a letter. She said that never in her life had she received such compassionate service from any business establishment.
Heroic service does not come from policy manuals. It comes from people who care- and from a culture that encourages and models that attitude.

Companies should believe that " Customers are their emporers", whatever the quality matrices they may include in their products Software, Electronics goods etc...whatever it may be, they should keep in mind about their end-user's satisfaction. They are doing business becuase of their customers. Let all the companies have an attitude that their customers are their emporers and they should make sure that their customers are happy. They can have a follow-up kind of events to make sure that their customers happy by conducting some events on regular basis. Companies should not think their job is over once the product is sold to their customers. In cricket, a run saved is a run scored, similarly its always nice to have new customers but donot forget to retain your existing customers. Once your service is good they don't have a second thought to go for your competitor's product.
